Forum seems to be back working

Hey Geoff, what in the waves seems to have happened anyway? Was it sabotage? Did you ere somehow while making changes? You know, I tried to upload a picture of myself and the next thing I know the forum was down.... I know I’m not that attractive but... Dang.... I didn't know I my picture would do that

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to get the site up and running again. I know that we’re a ragtag and bobtail bunch of save the worlders, but ahh shucks, I missed you guys man...and you wavy ladies too.

Nice to have you back.

I have noticed a lot more spamporn too.
I don't know why - the forum has same settings as before - you must register then log in to post, and it has the visual image with letters / numbers to confirm when registering.

If you want to get a feel for the dramas I went through then see my posts at php seo forum. dcz is a nice guy - helped me a lot - so it would be good if some of you could register there and say thankyou too - it was his knowledge that got our forum back working - and it uses his mods to inject page title into url which is useful (for people and google).

Things to do!

We need a better background image.

We need to start building second completed articles section - which can be done as we discuss things - and I hope that people will read through their older posts and extract good knowledge / explanations and add them to completed articles section.
Basically we need to make it easy for ourselves and new users of this forum - that when they have a question we can generally answer it by directing them to certain pages.
(To use our creative intelligence to construct order and understanding from chaos and uncertainty.)

A good letter inviting people to explore our website and forum. When I (soon, very soon!) finish my simple science pages I will show you the type of letter that I think might work - based on the argument of deducing from most simple foundations removes opinions - and it works. So come and check it out - tell us what you think.

And I would love help with spaceandmotion website - any page can be improved, new knowledge / pages (e.g. I Ching, God Delusion, Myth and Metaphor, Mystery, a simple explanation of reality for joe average).

There is so much we can do - we have true foundations - so the work will be important to humanity.
Please - lets discuss things - but lets start creating a better forum and website at the same time.

Rob, you added some posts to top say hello section several months back that need to be moved to completed articles section.
And I will add your quote about rules of forum somewhere more prominent - it does make the point.

Finally, as admins, not only do we need to delete spamporn, we need to delete spamideas, where people come along and 'pretend' to support WSM but you see quickly that they want to use it as a base to introduce their own ideas. This is OK if ideas abide by rules - but most often they do not - they add new terms for things they imagine and start arguing. It leads to confusion.
So beware of strangers bearing gifts of now words and ideas - simplicity, precise and careful use of language that corresponds to real things that exist is always necessary if we are to speak the truth.
Always ask people to define worlds BEFORE arguing over things.

You are forced to be 'thought police' in a sense - and you will be accused of this bias / censorship. However it is necessary - but it must be applied carefully, by rules of science / philosophy, not by personal feelings (obviously, yet also difficult for us humans).

I hope for great things - we have the knowledge - it is up to us what we creatively construct with it - no one else will do it for us - in fact we will be fighting a world that on the whole is hostile to truth and reality.

I am really really hoping that I can just immerse myself in my own work for a while now. So I really need you to maintain this forum at a high philosophical standard that is fitting for such an elegant ans simple understanding of physical reality.

Please also be a bit understanding if I am abrupt / grumpy here - I have a lot of work to do that has been stressing me for several years now - how to best write it up for people on internet.
It overwhelms me a bit - so enthusiasm and help for our forum / website would make it much easier.

I moved some topics over to the {WSM articles by subject} section, I think that all subjects have room for editing. When I have time I will rewrite what I have written until it becomes concise WSM ontology. Also, I think that a shadow of these topics should remain in the; {Say Hello/ Introduce Yourself} section, at least until they are completed articles.

Nothing abrupt or grumpy about that, mate. Very necessary, I thought!

I followed most of your conversation with dcz. Glad you two knew what you were talking about. I didn't have a clue! I will join and thank the guy, as you suggest.

Getting down to business, just about all of what you write above, I was assuming to be the 'master plan' anyway? I think we are at times guilty of not not knowing enough ourselves, or at least not using correct terminology, which is why we need to thrash out the understanding for ourselves, firstly.

To this end, I am mostly presuming that a guy who has spent as long as yourself formulating the ideas of WSM would be that bit closer to using the correct terms. We should stick to the site's terminology, unless we can prove something better or more relevant.

(...but I think we should encourage the benefits of Truth and Reality, and not fight the world with them! )

Any ideas what kind of backdrop would suit? I have a few things tucked away here...

Steve - just send any images that you think could work, and I will upload them and leave them for a few days for people to comment.

I encourage other to contribute too - background image is important.

I can also move text around at top of page to fit graphic.

The page is roughly 1000 px wide. (A variety of options - image could be 1000, 500, 330 wide - or a band that runs down one side - say 150 by 1000 deep, any size that i could center down middle of page. And I can use photoshop to modify if required).

Because I use css to add background image we can tile an image either from top left, top center, or top right - and have it display once or repeat either down or across page or both.

Yes - we must encourage people to seek truth and reality - it will make them wiser, which will result in a better life and a better world / society.
I will put a post up on 'Can people work out the truth for themselves'. It requires a much more precise response than my mischievous provocation that I wrote several weeks ago to you (that made me smile - but ultimately you will see that my view is kind and helpful - even if I do think humans are pretty stupid / fanciful when it comes to truth and reality!).

I will go through them and tighten up titles, see what i can add. But it is up to all of us to build this second section so it is very good - clean and simple - true.

Keep up the good work all - we will battle on and in time look back and be very proud of our progress I think - of what we have jointly created to help humanity see things more clearly and wisely!

PS - Losing the forum for several days - and fearing that i could not get it to work and would loose our data - well it made me (painfully) realise how much good knowledge there is tucked away in our posts - how I really did not want to loose all that (felt very guilty / stressed that I might loose your work!!).

So now I am very passionate about us extracting our best knowledge and presenting it to the world. I will soon (next few months) be adding prominent links to the forum from spaceandmotion website.
It is important that our forum is well organized when that happens - and as we promote our forum more.
We need to be able to deal with more people - while still maintaining high quality philosophy forum.
