"When forced to summarize the general theory of relativity in one sentence: Time and space and gravitation have no separate existence from matter. ... Physical objects are not in space, but these objects are spatially extended ... thus the concept of particles cannot play a fundamental part, ... and can only appear as a limited region in space in which the field strength or energy density are particularly high."
(Albert Einstein, Metaphysics of Relativity, 1950)
"It is my firm belief that the last seven decades of the twentieth century will be characterized in history as the dark ages of theoretical physics. ... The quantum world is a world of waves, not particles."
(Carver Mead, Professor Emeritus at Caltech. Received $500,000 Lemelson-MIT Prize in 1999)

Hi Robert,
Karene and i have both greatly enjoyed your contributions here at forum, and your works of Art.
I am very sorry that we lost past posts. I hope that you will carry on with discussions, and also post some more of your art work.
All the best,
Geoff

Hello Robert,
Thanks for coming over to say hello. Yes, i hope the format of forum works better. I will be a bit of a dictator at times i'm afraid - but you know what I am like from Yahoo group.
The dynamic unity of reality - that space is the one thing that exists - is central to this forum and greatly limits our imaginations as to what can exist (which is good as I see things).
So it will be a bit different here!
Anyway, i hope that we can have some fun while we discuss interesting and important things.
All the best,
Geoff |

Art With Meaning
Art that has ties to a shared world view seems more fulfilling. We are familiar with old master art that was tied to a very religious world view--- angels, biblical scenes, and so forth.
I consider my art tied to a world view that I am trying to refine the explanation of. The Wave Structure of Matter seems friendly to my world view of ONEness, eventhough its exact premises still might be unsolidified in my thinking.
Art with a sense of unity is better art I think, and that's why I am attracted to this whole WSM idea.
Funny how I call my favored style "The Art Of Turbulence", and this forum experienced its own bit of turbulence with the server problems
I wiped myself out of the forum here for a while, until I could see a pattern stabalize again, and reclaim a fuller identity associated with a continuum of contributions, instead of only those contributions the server problem happpened to miss.
Anyway, hope things will work out better for everyone here, and I'll stay tuned.

Wave Structure Of Gesture??
Space and Motion are terms used in art, as well as in physics.
As always, I look for correspondences between the two arenas of activity.
Patterns of movement in the human body seem to have trace forms (waves?) that exceed the pure physiological mass of the flesh. We can imagine complex gestures simply by abbreviating them with stick figures or minimal representations of energy lines.
The fact that we can see ourselves in such minimal abbreviations seems to speak to the unity of the universe. How is it that we can see ourselves in so little, unless this little is a deeply connected reflection of a greater whole?
Something about the continuity of the universe enables us to see more than is actually there.

|
|
Hi Geoff, Karen and all,
. . . just a quick note to let you know that I added a couple more or so images to The Omicron Gallery in the art gallery section of this forum.
These paintings seem to have the greatest allegiance to Wave Structure of Matter theory.
They are rather brute visual statements of human massiveness - human physicality in a lived world - that extends beyond the apparent visual/tangible boundaries of this massive physicality.

Hi NowIkonic,
I have just spent a fascinating 20 minutes at your website exploring things. I wish that I could copy some of your images and text and paste them here as they are really quite remarkable.
All is Now hey!
And Space is filled with Space.
Well I agree.
And i am glad that you are into metaphysics. I wonder if you are new to this knowledge of the Metaphysics of Space / Wave Structure of Matter, as i am most interested of your views on it, and how your mind will adapt / evolve to it over time.
We clearly share a lot of similar views on things, which is nice.
And your art is great - kinda wild and cosmic.
Well done!
Cheers,
Geoff
